Wild Thing: Elle the Cutest Little Rescued Kitten

by Mia
(Atlanta, Georgia, USA)

Meet Elle, a kitten who was bravely rescued from a hunting owl. Mia her owner shares how Elle fills a hole that was left when her 16 year old cat passed away.

It was six in the morning when I heard a horrible screeching, and, worried about my neighbor's outdoor cat, ran outside to see what was wrong. What I found was an owl diving for a tiny, ratty looking thing about the size of a hamster. I shooed the owl away, scooped up the critter, and took her to the local vet.

She was fine, thankfully, and the vet speculated because of her markings and number of teats (only two), that she was part margay. (Margays are small Mexican cats that have been brought into the United States.) I named her Ellie Satler after a character in Jurassic Park, and we've been inseparable ever since. She's my best friend. My 16-year-old cat passed away in September, and if not for Ellie, I don't think I would have handled it as well as I did.

So here is Ellie. Isn't she the most precious thing ever?

Thank you for sharing Mia.
