Cute Kitten Picture: My Little One

A story of a rescued little kitten, Jessye shares how she found her kitten "Little One" and how she ended up adopting this kitten into her life.

I found Little One on the side of the highway, as we were on our way to visit some puppies. Just as we left the on-ramp I saw a flash of orange but we were unable to stop due to traffic.

I made my boyfriend turn around at the next exit (15 min away) and return to the spot, where I found a terrified, lonely, and hungry kitten. He meowed loudly and helplessly as I slowly approached him. I was worried I might scare him into the road, but he just sat there and waited for me to pick him up. I carried him to the car without even a squirm!

In the car he talked away in between rubbing against my face and arms and purring. We took him home that day and immediately to the vets where he was treated for fleas and malnutrition.

We already had two cats and weren't planing on another but he immediately stole our hearts with his silly antics. A few days later we brought home a basset hound puppy and they have been inseparable ever since.

Originally we named our new baby "Cosmonaut" (naut for short) because he was such an explorer! However, one day I called him my little one and it stuck! Now when we go to the vets we have to remember which name we gave them.

Little One loves to cuddle with his brothers and sisters, but is a bit shy of people, but is a total mamas boy. I can cuddle him whenever I like, but it takes him some time to warm up to strangers. Once he does, he'll be your friend forever. He loves dancing around the living room - he gets up onto his back paws and bats at my hands with his front. His favorite dancing song is 'Like a Prayer' by Madonna.

Little One is and always be my baby, and I adore each and every day I have to cuddle with him.
